Call me a cynic, but I'd bet that under most circumstances the Bush administration would declare news that the ozone layer has stopped shrinking to be a validation of its energy policies. But that's kind of difficult to pull off when a massive natural disaster couples with a pointless morass of an occupation to leave the country you've been "elected" to lead teetering on the brink of an oil fueled recession that will make the Carter administration look like the roaring '20's. Happy days are here again!

Fuck. I'd still give you even money they'll do it, anyway.
